On a sunlit day filled with laughter, purpose, and powerful play, The Green’s Ladies Golf Club proudly hosted our 2025 Invitational at Downingtown Country Club—welcoming more than 110 guests, including golfers, vendors, and supporters from across the region.
This year’s Invitational was more than a tournament. It was a celebration of sisterhood, service, and the ever-growing legacy of Black women in golf.
From first tee to final toast, the course was alive with connection and community. Players brought their best swings, vendors showcased local excellence, and our members represented the club with style, strength, and sportsmanship.
But the highlight of the day came not from the scorecards—but from our $2,500 donation to the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship, a need-based fund awarded through The LPGA Foundation to support young minority women pursuing collegiate golf. This contribution reflects the very heartbeat of our mission: to uplift future leaders and expand access to the game we love.
The event would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of our 2025 Invitational Chair, Lia Rogers, and a dedicated committee of powerhouse members: Dr. Ronnie Florence-McPherson, Angella Moore, Kim Kennedy, Sommer Miller, Beryl Booth, Cyrene High, Phillipa Ashby, and Genesis Dorsey.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for bringing this experience to life with excellence and intention.
Honoring a Historic Induction
As if the weekend could not get more meaningful, we are thrilled to announce that The Green’s Ladies Golf Club was officially inducted into the African American Golfers Hall of Fame (AAGHOF). This prestigious honor recognizes our ongoing contributions to the advancement of African Americans in golf and celebrates our role in expanding access and visibility for Black women in the sport.
Our President, Dr. Ronnie Florence-McPherson, traveled to Palm Beach, Florida to represent the club at the induction ceremony and ribbon cutting of the future AAGHOF & Inner City Youth Golfers (ICYG) Clubhouse, which will serve as a permanent hub for preserving history and growing the game for the next generation.
Located at 125 W. 13th Street in Riviera Beach, Florida, the clubhouse will house the most comprehensive collection of African American golf memorabilia in the world, while also serving as a teaching and mentoring space for inner-city youth.
To be recognized by AAGHOF is a tremendous honor—and a reminder that our presence is not only seen, but felt in the legacy of the game.

A Glow-Up in Every Sense
As we reflect on this event, we are reminded of what it truly means to “glow up”—to rise in confidence, to lead with purpose, and to create space for others to shine.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable moment in our club’s history. We are just getting started—and we can’t wait to continue growing, glowing, and golfing with you.
